CFC Stanbic declines to emerge top loser of the day.

The NSE 20 declined by 29.85 points to close at 4,805.89 while NASI index gained 0.15 points to close at 161.46. E.A Portland Cement rose by 3.51 percent to close at KES 59.00 to become today’s top gainers. CFC Stanbic emerged the top loser, declining by 5.36 percent to close the day at KES 106.00.

The volume of shares traded dropped by 68.10 percent to close at 24.25mn.Total turnover declined by 53.19 percent to close at KES 724.56mn. Safaricom was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 199.28mn representing 27.50 percent of total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 50.00 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 29.57 percent of total turnover.

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI edged up by 0.03 percent to close at 1,893.56 while USE LSI remained constant to close at 324.33. A total of 3.42mn shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 1.59bn.

Rwanda: The RSE ALSI and RSE RSI declined by 0.12 percent and 0.01 percent respectively to close at 223.76 and 136.06 respectively. Total number of shares traded today was 13,800 shares. Total turnover come to a close of RWF4.01mn.

Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI increased by 0.38 percent and 0.01 percent to close at 2,708.19 and 4,685.62. African Barrick Gold was the top gainer of the day, gaining 3.37 percent to close at TZS9, 190.00.Total volumes were recorded at 23,471shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 32.67mn.
