Mathieu Dutrisac was appointed as the new General Manager of Amadeus IT Group for the East Africa region.
Mathieu, who took over from Juan Torres will be based at Amadeus’ head office in Nairobi, from the 1st of July.
He will be responsible for overseeing business strategies across all travel channels in corporate and leisure travel agents, leading Amadeus’ initiatives to grow in East Africa whilst driving technological innovation.
Paul de Villiers, Vice President Amadeus Africa, said that he was delighted to welcome Mathieu to the Amadeus East Africa team adding that his B2B experience and customer oriented mindset will be a huge asset to Amadeus, its partners, and customers.
He also noted that Dutrisac’s expertise in launching Payments and Mobile solutions in Africa will contribute to Amadeus’ focus in these two areas as part of our business diversification.

Mathieu is a senior Telecoms and IT Commercial leader with 8 years of experience in East and Central Africa. Prior to joining Amadeus, he was Chief Operating Officer of Airtel Congo Brazzaville; Chief Commercial Officer of Tigo in DR Congo and Head of Products & Marketing in Rwanda. Earlier in his career, Mathieu worked as a developer in large IT groups Nortel, Marconi and Texas Instruments. Mathieu holds a Bachelor in Computer Engineering from Ecole de Technologie Superieure in Montreal and an MBA from IE Business School in Madrid.
