Whether you’re a makeup fan or you prefer to rock your bare-faced beauty, skin care should always have a place in your daily routine. While you may feel totally comfortable with being makeup-free, you shouldn’t skip out on your skin care routine if you want your complexion to look as gorgeous as possible.
Combination skin is the most common skin type for most people but it varies from one person to the other. Some people might have an oily T-zone (nose, forehead, and/or chin) but dry skin everywhere else. Others might be dry and sensitive only in certain concentrated spots—say, around the eyes or mouth. Some areas of combination skin tolerate products better, while other zones might appear irritated, overly oily, or dry after using cleansers, moisturizers, or masks.
Here is the routine you’ll need to follow for glowing skin;
Step 1: Cleanse
Clean your face with a gel or foaming cleanser. Make sure to avoid ordinary soaps, which tighten and dry the skin. Wet, lather and rinse with the aid of warm water.
Step 2: Tone
Using a cotton ball, gently apply a toner to remove remaining residue and to help better absorb your moisturizer.
Step 3: Moisturize
Generously apply a general moisturizer. If your skin is oily in some areas and dry in others, use a hydrating moisturizer for dry areas and an oil-free one for oily spots.
Step 4: Exfoliate
Do this twice weekly, remove dead cells and unclog pores by using a gentle face scrub. Avoid delicate skin areas.
Extra tips: With combination skin, it’s especially important to be aware of fluctuations in your environment and body, and adjust accordingly. Hormonal or seasonal changes might cause your skin to act differently during certain times of the year (or month, for women), and it can change throughout your lifetime.
