A six-storey residential building has collapsed this morning, 6th December 2019, in Tassia estate in Embakasi Nairobi trapping scores of tenants with rescuing operations currently underway.
The collapsed residential flat in Tassia Embakasi is reported to be home to an estimated hundred Kenyans thought the number of people who were in the homes is yet to be established.
The collapsed Tassia residential flat in Embakasi is believed to have occurred as a result of the heavy rains experienced across the Country and obvious poor foundation of the structure.
It is feared that a number of people could already have lost their lives as the concrete is completely shattered.
The collapsed Tassia Estate residential flat had six floors and is located in Embakasi Ward which is in Embakasi East Constituency in Nairobi.
The Kenya Red Cross, confirming the accident has noted that it is in the process of rescuing Kenyans and zeroing loss of life in the prompt rescue mission.

All the motorists using roads in Embakasi leading to or from Tassia Estate are requested to pave way for Emergency teams and vehicles as health and security officers transfer those injured for prompt medical attention.
The number of people trapped in the collapsed Tassia residential flat remains unknown.
