Motorists and travelers along the busy Naivasha-Nakuru highway were forced to spend their night in cold and darkness following a 15-hour traffic snarl-up at Gilgil Way Bridge.
It was not clear as to what had caused the long traffic jam that had stretched over 17 kilometers although some witnesses blamed the numerous graduation ceremonies that had been allowed to happen on the same day hence more people traveling.
This is not the first time motorists and passengers are experiencing overnight long traffic jams at the Gilgil Way Bridge with the traffic police officers along the route receiving a great portion of the blame.
The majority of the drivers decided to turn off their engines because it was obvious that there was no way out of the gigantic traffic.
Passengers who were traveling from Nairobi were forced to use alternative routes to avoid being caught up in the traffic.
