David Owusu Ministries Gifts Vulnerable Families With Foodstuffs

David Owusu Ministries (DOM), an international and interdenominational Ministry, donated foodstuffs and other packages to more than 300 families affected by the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This was part of the humanitarian drive that started in April and targeted families living in informal settlements in Nairobi including Huruma, Kibera, Dagoreti, Rongai, Bangladesh slum, and Mathare among others.

The David Owusu Ministries conducted the humanitarian drive in collaboration with the Administration Police and chiefs within the communities who helped identify the vulnerable families thanks to the ‘Nyumba Kumi’ initiative.

DOM is a Ministry that seeks to reach out to the nations of the world with the Word of God, which is able to build people, liberate and transform lives. The organization has been engaged in community projects over the past years in Kenya, Ghana, and England with an impact of over 3,500 lives.

Marking the end of December, a culmination of the Drive, The DOM FG ministry took time to visit and to deliver food to a small community-based organization known as; Mama Africa Pendo. The organization is based in the Mathare slums of Nairobi Kenya. Mama Africa Pendo was founded by Mary Njeru in March 2015 and is committed to serving people in Mathare slum (Nairobi, Kenya). At the event, 30 different families based in the slums got to receive foodstuff and toiletries.

At all events, the laid-out measures that the Government has put in place during this COVID-19 period were strictly followed, with only a few members of DOM FG and DOM Care were present. Due to the global pandemic affecting the world, here in Kenya, the magnitude of the challenge by the Covid-19 pandemic has greatly affected the less privileged due to the stringent measures that the Government has put in place to contain the spread of Covid-19.

Speaking during the event at Mama Pendo, the DOM President, Apostle David Owusu, said that, “this food that the Ministry had been donating was geared to bringing cheer and comfort to the less fortunate. Good deeds will always follow you and leaving a positive impact on the less fortunate brings blessings to your fold. This pandemic had brought the world together as the pandemic has affected all countries, with the death toll on the increase. Here in Kenya and Africa, God has preserved and protected the nations and we cannot take for granted that the numbers affecting those in Africa are not as high as anticipated. This pandemic has indeed brought the world closer to God.”

“As DOM, we are an organization that not only looks at impacting people spiritually but touching all aspects of a person’s life. We reach out to the needy and less privileged in the society through visiting them, donating items, and supporting them through their life”, added Apostle David.

S.P. Fr. Peter Waweru, Directory of Gender, Sports and Welfare Administration Police Service, HQ Jogoo House A., thanked DOM for visiting, donating to less privileged people in various localities saying,” As the Bible states, whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward them for what they have done. And for DOM, your kindness and generosity demonstrate your call to helping the needy in society.” He continued by saying, “to help contain the effects and spread of COVID-19 all Kenyans and people in the world need to pull together and ensure that all laid out procedures are being strictly followed including wearing masks, washing hands, practicing social distancing and staying home. Observing the measures that the Government has put in place are for the good of the nation.”
