Burkina Faso’s population is already showing signs of supporting a takeover by about 100 military members who have been planning the takeover since August.
President Roch Marc Christian Kabore of Burkina Faso has been detained at a military camp in the capital, Ouagadougou, by mutinying soldiers, two security sources, and a West African diplomat after heavy gunfire around his resident on Sunday night.
On Monday morning, several armored vehicles of the presidential fleet could be seen riddled with bullets one of them was covered with drops of blood. Frustration has been growing at President Kabore’s inability to stem the spread of violence across the country

“People are tired of this situation of insecurity. Every day people are killed. In Burkina, there are areas that can’t be accessed. We have lost a big part of our territory,” said Jean-Baptiste Ilboudou a civilian near the military base where gunshots were heard.
