Kapchorua Tea edges up 9.38 percent to emerge highest market gainer
The NSE 20 and NASI index shed 8.21 points and 0.65 points respectively to close at 4,754.66 and 159.59. Kapchorua Tea was the highest market gainer edging up 9.38 percent to close the day at KES 175.00. Eaagads emerged the top loser, declining by 6.00 percent to close the day at KES 35.25.
The volume of shares traded rose 21.65 percent to close at 67.71mn. Total turnover went up 67.71 percent to close at KES 2,146.78mn. Safaricom was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 770.16mn representing 35.87 percent of total market turnover.
Foreign buys stood at 88.93 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 89.53 percent of total turnover.

Uganda: The USE ALSI and USE LSI edged up 2.72 percent and 0.46 percent respectively to close at 2,052.94 and 328.32. A total of 366,360 shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 163.03mn.
Rwanda: The RSE ALSI and USE RSI rose by 0.37 percent and 0.07 percent respectively to close at 214.91 and 144.63 .Total number of shares traded today was 632,800 shares. Total turnover come to a close of RWF 200.79mn.
Tanzania: The DSEI and DSE TSI declined 1.08 percent and 0.52 percent respectively to close at 2,632.84 and 4,615.31. CRDB Bank went up 1.25 percent to close at TZS 405.00. National Microfinance Bank was the top loser of the day declining by 3.64 percent to close at TZS 3,180.00. Total volumes were recorded at 102,831 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 220.15mn.
