Kenyan Stock Market
NSE 20 share and NASI index inched up 3.05 points and 0.13 points respectively to close at 4,219.89 and 145.51. Mumias Sugar gained 5.71 percent ending today’s session at KES 1.85 to emerge as the day’s top gainer. Express Kenya emerged the top loser, declining by 10.00 percent to close the day at KES 4.05
The volume of shares traded rose 144.2 percent to close at 66.99mn. Total turnover went up by 142.6 percent to close at KES 1,154.73mn. Safaricom was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 757.09mn representing 65.7 percent of the total market turnover.
Foreign buys stood at 84.3 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 70.6 percent of total turnover.
EAC Markets
Uganda: The USE ALSI inched up 1.37 percent to close at 1,891.29 while USE LSI edged up 0.12 percent to close at 351.89. A total of 4.12mn shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 1.23bn, an 88.58 percent increment from the previous turnover of UGX 653.21mn
Rwanda: The USE RSI and RSE ALSI remained constant to close at 191.09 and 141.39. Total turnover came in at RWF 1.79mn with 6,400 shares traded.
Tanzania: The DSEI shed off 0.52 percent to close at 2,474.63 while DSE TSI declined 0.24 percent to close at 4,642.00. National Micro finance Bank was the day’s top gainer, gaining 1.40 percent to
close at 2,900.00. Tanzania Breweries declined 1.00 percent to close at 15,100.00 emerging as top loser. Total volumes were recorded at 493,101 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 1.17bn.
