Signs That You Might Not be a Good Leader

leadership

As leaders we always want the best for our companies, recruit the best of talents and skill and give the best training that we can offer. We tend to forget that for a company or business to run smooth we as leaders need to be part of the growth too. Leaders have to have certain qualities that can help rum business smoothly.

Empathy, a leader should put him or herself in another person’s shoes and see things from a different perspective; this is the only way to know if you are running the company well.

Open to change: Today things change within a short while be it technology or education, how business were managed in the 90s is not how they are managed now. A good leader should understand good change that will improve performance and delivery.

Poor judge of character: This kind of act is very common, it’s good to give everyone a chance and not be too judgy, you might not like your new intern but he delivers more than what older employees in the company can.

The person who acts as though they can do it all and are the only one who can do it right is a bad leader, because they’ll be too busy doing everyone else’s job. If you are in a position to help your employees grow, give them the opportunity to improve.

It’s important to show your commitment not only to the work at hand, but also to your promises. Always keep your word to create a reputation. Once you have gained the respect of your team, they are more likely to deliver quality work.
