Wadi Degla Club held its official groundbreaking ceremony to kick start construction of the first Wadi Degla club in Runda today Tuesday 11th 2015.
It was a colorful event that was attended by Kiambu governor William Kabogo, Egyptian Ambassador to Kenya as well as President of Wadi Degla holding international Adel Samy and other dignitaries that marked the start of a direct and drastic improvement on the quality of the sports infrastructure in Kenya.
The groundbreaking at Runda is also part of the plan to put up eight branches that would spread around the country in Kiambu, Migaa, Athi River, Karen, Kisumu, Mombasa and Eldoret before extending to Tanzania, Uganda Rwanda and Burundi and this is only after showcasing their success in Kenya.
Speaking during the event, the President of Wadi Degla holding international Adel Samy noted that the club’s primary target is families because it offers services that cater to the family unit and sets out to offer a homely energetic feel to its customers. He said that the Club is not only interested in sports but also in projects that will boost the economy of Kenya in terms of infrastructure as well as creating employment to thousands of Kenyans.
Wadi Degla Holding will build a luxury club in Kenya, one that will see stars being created and champions being nurtured. This luxury club will be first of its kind in the East African region that will include sports facilities offering swimming, tennis, squash, Fifa approved football fields, basketball, handball, volley ball and health facilities including spas, saunas, gyms and dancing schools and complete with restaurants within the facility.
Kiambu Governor William Kabogo termed the project as a visionary one, one that would see Kenya always remaining a home of champions.
