Tuskys Chain of Supermarkets launches a unique retailing concept that will enable them partner with Saccos and allow all members acquire high value items in all its 51 countrywide outlets on credit. The essence is to help members equip their homes without any financial strain.
In the partnership, Tuskys will advance credit to Saccos which is repayable in 30 days. This credit is what will allow individual members of a Sacco to identify and pick any item of their choice in any Tuskys Outlet.
For a start, Tuskys has already signed a partnership with Ukombozi Sacco, an umbrella Sacco for Deliverance Churches in Kenya that have a large countrywide network
Ukombozi Sacco currently has a membership of over 7100 Countrywide and in 2014 the Sacco was voted the best managed medium size Sacco.
Here is how it will work:
- A partnering Sacco member identifies any high value item of choice at any nearest Tuskys store.
- Request for a quote including item specifications from the store.
- Present the quote to the sacco for approval
- Upon approval, the purchase order is raised, approved and signed by the Sacco.
- Present the purchase order to the Tuskys store and pick the item of choice.

This concept will then be rolled out to other reputable and licenced SACCOs across the country to enable more Sacco members access items of their choice conveniently and comfortably. Tuskys will also extend this facility to corporates that will enable members of staff of a partnering corporate to get items from Tuskys on credit.
This is part of Tuskys’ grand plan to empower homes and change people’s lives.
Some of the high value categories of items include electronics, furniture, household items like carpets, water storage equipment, among others.
“We want to ensure that many people can comfortably own digital TVs for example in this era of digital migration. Members of any licensed sacco can now get their dream high value items from our stores without any financial nightmares,” says Tuskys CEO Dan Githua.
Tuskys Marketing Manager Mr. Spencer Okach, who represented the CEO, launched the facility at Nakuru Delivearnce Church during an on-going 4-day Youth Conference that was attended by more than 3000 youths.
