Wadi Degla Sporting Club as it is commonly known is an Egyptian football club based in Cairo and it is one of the best football clubs in Egypt.
In the period between 2009 and 2010, Wadi Degla Soccer Club was promoted to the Egyptian Premier League for the first time in its history since its inception. Since then, the club has written a remarkable history posting one amazing performance after another.
In 2009-2010 for instance, during the Egyptian Second Division, Wadi Degla made history that has never been replaced. During that time, Al-Sekka Al-Hadid was defeated by Wadi Degla by being beaten three goals to one (3-1) in the last week of the Egyptian Second Division. This gave them a ticket of being promoted to the highest level of football in Egypt, the Egyptian Premier League. This was the first ever promotion in the history of this enthusiastic club in Egypt.
Do you know how long it took for Wadi Degla to move to the Premier League? It took Wadi Degla only one season to leap from the second division to the premier league. This was a historical achievement that only happened in Egypt twenty years after that reached by Al-Mokawloon Al-Arab in the year 1981.
Wadi Degla has a large football academy that is a similar project to that of ASEC Mimosas. The academy is a world of champions where talents are identified, recruited, nurtured and turned into amazing tools of turning around the world of football.
