Nairobi County Governor Evans Kidero will Friday launch the Nairobi Youth Night Market at Mama Ngina Street during the Easter holiday.

The project is organized by The Youth Agenda in collaboration with Nairobi City County Government and the Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs, Nairobi Youth Night Market and seeks to promote a 24 hour economy in the county, powered by the strength of youthful vibrant entrepreneurs.

The Youth Agenda Chief Executive Officer, Susan Mwongera, says, “While the night market is a prevalent trend in other parts of the continent, the Kenyan wave will be pioneered and driven by the young people.”

“This initiative aims at providing a solution to the challenge of youth employment through provision of readily accessible markets for their businesses.”

Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero on the pilot project says it will improve the socio-economic lives of the county’s citizens.

“This is a significant milestone in the growth and development of our economy in the county and the country at large. The initiative is in line with our County Strategic Plan that is geared towards promoting a 24 hour economy so as to improve our socio-economic lives in the county,” he said.
