Kiambu county is located in the former central province of Kenya. Its capital is Kiambu and the largest town is Thika. The county ids adjacent to the northern border of Nairobi County. The county has got a population of 1,623,282 according to the 2009 census, but the number has currently increased.
The county is said to be 40 per cent rural and 60 per cent urban, owing to Nairobi’s consistent growth on the northward side. This is one county that has all the essentials that an investor needs before putting any of their resources for investment purposes.
Proximity of the county to the capital city and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) makes it a hot cake for investments. Its proximity to the city, that has a population of almost 4.5 people provides readily available market. There is also 130km railway line with four railway stations in present in the county, making it ideal for faster transportation of materials and products to markets. Soon, there will be improved access of Ethiopia and South Sudan after the completion of the Northern Corridor that is underway, and it is passing through the county.
