Home Afrika Ltd was the top gainer of the day with 9.38 percent at a price of 1.75 shillings per share. National Bank of Kenya came in second with 8.15 percent at the price of 9.95 shillings per share. British American Investments Company Ltd took the third position with 8.11 percent at a price of 12.00 shillings per share. Mumias Sugar Company Ltd and Carbacid Investments Ltd had 7.69 and 7.38 percent respectively.

Uchumi Supermarkets Ltd was the top loser of the day. The retailer lost 10.00 percent at a price of 4.50 shillings per share followed by Liberty Kenya Holdings Ltd with 5.63 percent at price of 15.10 shillings per share while Crown Berger Ltd had 5.36 percent at a price of 53.00 shillings per share. Co-operative Bank of Kenya Ltd and NIC Bank Ltd each lost 3.70 and 2.53 percent repectively.

The most traded in shares of the day came from Safaricom Ltd which had a volume of 12.91 million followed by Kenya Commercial Bank Ltd with a volume of 1.38 million while Diamond Trust Bank Kenya Ltd had 774,500. Kenya Airways Ltd and Mumias Sugar Company Ltd each provided a volume of 690,600 and 574,100 respectively.
