Kenyan Shilling Performance Today
The Kenyan Shilling strengthened against the US Dollar today by 1.15% year-to-date and did tremendously well against the Sterling Pound by 5.98% year-to-date while against the Euro the Kenyan Shilling weakened 3.18% year-to-date.
Kenyan Stock Market:
Market turnover at the bourse recorded 24.21% decrease to 328.12 million shillings or simply 3.24 million US Dollars from Friday’s trading.
At the same time, the NSE 20 index and NASI index declined 1.02 percent and 0.57 percent respectively to end the day 3,958.57 and 145.67 respectively.
Foreign investors assumed a net selling position by accounting for 64.2 percent of total market sales and 58.2 percent of total market purchases.
East African Community Markets:
In Rwanda, the RSE RSI and RSE ALSI lost 0.2 percent and 0.02 percent respectively end the day at 145.73 and 130.47 respectively while in Uganda, the USE ALSI lost 0.97 percent to end the day at 1,790.29 while USE LSI remained constant to end the day at 413.56.
