Kenya’s Dr. Patrick Njoroge was been named the Central Banker of the Year at the African Banker Awards, held at Lusaka’s InterContinental Hotel on the side-lines of the African Development Bank’s Annual Meetings.
The Central Bank Governor dedicated the award award to the youth of Africa as the continent celebrated Africa Day to marking its 53rd Anniversary of the foundation of our beloved Continental Organization, the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), now the African Union (AU) under the theme: “Year of Human Rights, with particular focus on the Rights of Women;” a theme, which is, indeed, both an opportunity and a challenge for all Africans.
On his Twitter feed, he said, “Truly delighted and a bit overwhelmed…! I dedicate this award to the youth of Africa.”
The award recognised him as a proven and exceptional leader re-establishing order in the Kenyan banking sector.
