A tongue is a very small organ but its effects are usually devastating. The organ is like a small fire which when lit in a tank full of petrol, it explodes like an atomic bomb.
In the past few months, politicians in Kenya, both from the opposition and the ruling coalition have failed to tame this small but dangerous organ. Most politicians have been spewing tribal venom as well as making malicious allegation that are likely to plunge this nation into a pool of political turmoil.
Most politicians in Kenya appear to have restrained themselves from understanding history or perhaps they are just ignorant and selfish. Maybe these politicians don’t know that Somalia, before coming down was a stable nation and Somalis lived like kings and queens in their country. Maybe these selfish politicians also do not know that Rwanda was a heaven before the genocide that claimed more than 800,000 innocent lives. And maybe, these politicians too, are not aware that Kenya is not too unique to fall, too unique to burn and too unique to experience a genocide.
Already the economy of the country is crawling because of the useless statement being vomited by politicians. Lives have already started being lost and blood in the streets has started being visible. The politicians, instead of getting worried, they dance to the mourning tunes, celebrate over the graves of the dead and thrive on the sufferings of the millions of Kenyans.
At the start of this week, eight politicians were arrested and arraigned in court. All eight of them were still under police custody at the time of going to the press. The eight are Moses Kuria, the man who is on record for releasing dangerous, useless, incurable utterances (MP for Gatundu), Ferdinand Waititu (MP Kabete), Junet Mohamed (MP Suna East), Kimani Ngunjiri (MP Nakuru East), Timothy Bosire (MP Kitutu Masaba), Johnston Muthama (Senator Machakos), Florence Mutua (Women Rep, Busia) and Aisha Juma (Women Rep Mombasa).
The question is, are these arrests going to bear any fruits or is it just a PR exercise?
