Sinapis organization is a Christian social enterprise that was founded in 2009 by three co-founders including its current Executive Director, Courtney Rountree-Mills. The mission of Sinapis is to empower aspiring entrepreneurs in the developing world with innovative, scalable business ideas by providing them with a rigorous Christ-centered business education, world-class consulting and mentoring services and access to seed capital.
The Sinapis program is a four-month advanced entrepreneurial training program that is similar to a mini-MBA but customized for entrepreneurs and business owners. Sinapis works with Acton School of Business, a top-notch MBA program in the US, which is solely focused on entrepreneurship to deliver world-class curriculum designed by some of the most successful entrepreneurs in the US.
The Sinapis training program combines highly interactive online and in-class educational experiences with extremely practical fieldwork assignments grounded in the most cutting edge entrepreneurship best practices and deep knowledge of what it takes to start and grow a business in a developing context. The curriculum is divided into four core sections of business:
- Sales and marketing
- Human Resources & Management
- Operations
- Finance.
The lessons are prepared to give practical training in these essential business disciplines for entrepreneurs and business owners that want to start a new business or transform their existing business into a world class enterprise.
Graduates of the training program are eligible to compete in our business plan competition. The top ten finalists in the business plan competition are invited to join our fast track fellows program & the overall winner of the business plan competition receives $10,000. The fast track fellows program provides 6 months of support in the form of consulting, access to mentors & experts, and opportunities to compete for seed capital.
Sinapis will be holding its annual Graduation and Business Plan Competition on Saturday, July 9th 2016 from 8:00am-4:00pm at The Pride Centre, Westlands. During this graduation, Business Plan Competition will take place during the aforementioned event. Five of Sinapis top entrepreneurs will get to pitch live to win $10,000 in seed funding.
Impact results indicate that 98% of the entrepreneurs who have gone through the Sinapis program learnt something that saved their business from failure, with a further 99% stating that they would recommend Sinapis over a traditional MBA to a fellow entrepreneur. Graduates of the Sinapis program also raise 3 times more investment capital for their business as compared to before joining the Sinapis program, and on average, a Sinapis entrepreneur creates 5 new jobs per year in business.
