Kenyan Shilling Performance
The Kenyan Shilling strengthened 0.88 percent year-to-date against the US Dollar. The shilling also strengthened 13.06 percent year- to-date against the Sterling pound. Against the Euro, however, the Kenyan Shilling weakened 2.22 percent year-to-date.

Market turnover at the bourse recorded 19.56 percent increase to 1.0 billion shillings (USD 9.95 MN) from Wednesday’s trading. NSE 20 index and NASI index declined 0.70 percent and 0.12 percent to close at 3,484.08 and 147.32 respectively. Foreign investors assumed a net buying position by accounting for 87.2 percent of total market purchases and 17.65 percent of total market sales.

In Uganda, the USE ALSI gained 0.06 percent to close at 1638.85 while USE LSI rose 0.18 percent to close at 391.61. In Rwanda, the RSE RSI and RSE RASI remained constant to close at 134.54 and 129.08 respectively while in Tanzania, the DSE DSEI gained 0.10 percent to close at 2674.06 while DSE TSI declined 0.10 percent to close at 4006.58.
