The average price for 1kg of sugar in the month of September was Ksh.120.74 as compared to the month of August when the price was Ksh.116.52. in a span of one month, sugar prices have increased by Ksh.4.22, according to statistics from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS).
A 1kg of Fresh fish on the other hand was being sold at an average of Ksh.414.52 in September while in August, the same had an average price of Ksh.405.20. 1kg of packed milk in September had an average price of Ksh.53.73 while in August, it was Ksh.53.37.

According to KNBS, the year on year food inflation stood at 10.94 percent in September 2016 and over the same review period, Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels’ Index, increased by 0.05 per cent.
