A fresh start for TZ, Kenya relations

President John Pombe Magufuli’s decision to visit Rwanda and Uganda ahead of Kenya sent tongues wagging, but on Monday the President dismissed the fears revealing that he had been always in touch with his colleague all this while. “We call each other on many issues, but because these phone calls don’t get seen in public, some people don’t know,” he said at a joint press conference.

“Our relations go back a long way, not just because we were both colonised by the British but because out nationals are also related. We are like siblings,” he argued. He said his visit was “to cement the good relations between Tanzania and Kenya.”

Decreasing oil prices will push Africa to the top of the global economy because the countries have so many business opportunities that are waiting for future investors.
