Kenyans on Thursday took to the social media and poured out their feelings on the rampant corruption in Kenya using the hashtag #HangWaiguru.
Anne Waiguru is the former Cabinet Secretary for Devolution who bowed to pressure and relinquished her position as the Cabinet Secretary following a mega corruption scandal that hit her ministry.
More than 791 million shillings are said to have been looted from the National Youth Service with many fingers pointing to Anne Waiguru as the mastermind of the loot.
The Auditor Generals records show that more than the said amount was looted. On Wednesday, while before the parliamentary Public Accounts Committee, former Principal Secretary to the Ministry of Devolution Mr. Peter Mangiti said that he stopped attempts by Anne Waiguru to steal more than 3 billion shillings from the National Youth Service.
Kenyans seem to have been angered by the deafening silence from President Uhuru Kenyatta concerning the matter and at one point asking what do you want me to do? And up to now, no single soul from the mighty has been thrown to jail due to corruption.

The former CS has since declared her interest to vie for the position of governor in Kirinyaga County and analysts say that given her close association with the top brass of the country, chances of her getting the position are high.
Kenya is said to be losing more than half of its budget to corruption and already the World Bank has warned that the country’s debt is drifting towards the red zone and that soon the country will be unable to cope up with the ever-growing debt.
Runaway corruption has become rampant in the country and the government seems to be doing little to avert the situation.
