Ronald Kirui and Irene Cheptai emerged victorious in the senior titles at the 12th edition of Tuskeys Wareng Cross Country held in Eldoret on Sunday.
Kirui clocked 28:03 to win while Moses Mukono coming in second in 28:07 and Timothy Rono timed 28:08 coming third in the hotly contested race from the former world cross country champion Japhet Korir and Moses Mukono to secure the title.

Irene Cheptai was the winner in the women’s 10km clocking 31:15 beating former world youth Olympic champion Gladys Chesir to second in 31:41 while Vivian Jemutai finished third in 32:01.
In other races, Nicholas Kimeli won the 8km junior men 22:15 defeating Edwin Kiptoo to second in 22:20 as Josphat Kipchirchir timed 22:22 in third.
Lilian Kasait clocked 18:48 for the victory in the 6km junior women with Edna Cheboitok finishing second in 18:05 and Sandra Chebet finished third in 19:13.
