The year is almost coming to an end and with festivities taking place all across the country, a 98-kilogram bag of sweet potatoes was being retailed at 3,500 shillings in Nakuru, 3,000 shillings in Mombasa, 2,800 shillings in Nairobi, 2,750 in Malindi, 2,500 shillings in Kisumu and 2,300 shillings in Eldoret.
These market prices have been driven by the fact that many people have embraced the healthy eating trend lately, therefore going back to traditional foods that had been neglected. Such foods include cassava, and irish potatoes.
A 50-kilogram bag of White irish potatoes on the other hand was going as follows: 3,400 shillings in Kisumu, 3,300 shillings in Malindi, 3,200 shillings in Nakuru, 2,500 shillings in Nairobi and Mombasa and 1,800 shillings in Eldoret.
With an increased rate in vegetable intake, a 50-kilogram bag of Kale S was being sold at 2,200 shillings in Mombasa, 1,800 shillings in Kisumu, 1,500 shillings in Malindi, 1,300 shillings in Eldoret and Nairobi, and 900 shilings in Nakuru.
A 138 bag of carrots was being retailed as follows: 4,100 in Mombasa, 3,500 shillings in Kisumu, 3,450 shillings in Malindi, 2,400 shillings in Nairobi, 2,300 shillings in Nakuru and 1,800 shillings in Eldoret.
