Dry Maize Averagely Retailing at 4,510 shillings for a 90Kg Bag Across the Country

A 90-kilogram bag of maize is retailing at an average market price of 4,510 shillings across the country with the highest price being 5,200 shillings in Kisumu while the lowest price stood at 4,000 shillings in Eldoret.

A 90-kilogram bag of finger millet, on the other hand, was being sold as follows in selected towns across the country: 9,600 shillings in Kisumu, 9,000 shillings in Mombasa, 7,500 shillings in Embu, 7,200 shillings in Nairobi, 7,000 shillings in Nakuru, 6.750 shillings in Kitale and 6,300 shillings in Eldoret.

Commodities in the legume family were also in plenty though the market prices have increased as compared to three months ago. A 90-kilogram bag of Rosecoco beans was being sold as follows: 10,000 shillings in Kisumu, 9,900 shillings in Eldoret, 8,000 shillings in Mombasa, 7,700 shillings in Nakuru, 7,650 shillings in Nairobi and 6,600 shillings in Kitale.

A 90-kilogram bag of green gram had the highest market price of 13,500 shillings and the lowest market price for the same was 8,550 shillings in Nairobi.

Cowpeas, Fresh peas and groundnuts also seem to have been available in the market with groundnuts being sold as follows for an 110-kilogram bag: 16,500 shillings in Embu, 17,600 shillings in Mombasa, 14,300 shillings in Kitale, 13,750 shilling in Nakuru, 14,200 shillings in Nairobi and 12,600 shillings in Eldoret.
