NASI shaved off 0.06 percent on Wednesday to settle at 135.88, on an increased turnover of 723.9 million shillings. The increase was 53.28 percent from the previous session.
KCB Group Ltd traded 38.01 million shillings trouncing Safaricom Ltd (NSE: SCOM) as the top mover in Wednesday’s session. The latter released its FY17 results before trading this morning with most investors taking profits in the session after the counter reached highs of 22.0 shillings. Safaricom later closed at 20.0 shillings from the previous session.
Foreign activity, on the other hand, was at 60.9 percent being a drop by 28.5 percent from the previous session with KCB Group Ltd exuding a heavy buy-side and accounting for 83 percent of foreign trades. The bank, Kenya’s largest by assets, recorded the highest net inflows 15.14 million shillings while KenolKobil Ltd exuded net foreign selling activity 22.1 million in the session.
Crown Paints Ltd (NSE: BERG) was the top gainer by 9.8% moving 400 shares in the session. Eveready East Africa Ltd (NSE: EVRD) topped the laggards, shedding 9.2 percent in the session. The counter hit its 18-week high, up 52.8 percent to 3.95 shillings on 2nd May 2017 after its results release.
