Local investors dominate the Kenyan bourse at 56.87pc

Equities reversed Tuesday’s performance as all major indicators closed in the green on further depressed turnover.
Shareholder’s wealth increased marginally by 0.2 percent in the session on reduced number of shares traded (-38.4 percent to 14.33Mn from the previous session).
Local investors continued to dominate activity accounting for 56.87 percent of total market turnover.
Foreign investors exited mainly from Safaricom Ltd (NSE: SCOM), KCB Group Plc (NSE: KCB), Diamond Trust Bank Kenya (NSE: DTK) which were all unmoved in price.
The foreign desk mainly bought into Standard Chartered Bank of Kenya (NSE: SCBK) and Barclays Bank of Kenya Ltd (NSE: BBK).
Local investors were the main traders on NIC Bank Ltd (NIC) which was on the top traded list in today’s session gaining 0.6 percent as at market close.
The foreign desk has exuded net selling activity for the past 20 consecutive sessions.
Bonds turnover increased by 5.31 percent in the session to KES 2.58Bn on 29 deals compared to 83 deals traded previously.
