Safaricom Limited was the top mover of the day at the NSE on Monday. The telecommunication company posted a volume of 5.60 million shares followed by KenolKobil with 2.20 million.
Kenya Commercial Bank, Equity Group, and Kenya Airways posted 1.71, 1.63 and 1.08 million in volumes respectively. The top five movers of the day were dominated by banks led by Kenya Commercial Bank.
On top gainers table, Olympia Capital carried the day. The company gained 9.38 percent at the price of 3.50 shillings per share followed by Sameer Africa with 8.62 percent at the price of 3.15 shillings per share.
Nairobi Business Venture gained 8.16 percent at the price of 2.65 shillings per share while Jubilee Holdings and Home Afrika gained 6.99 and 4.35 percent respectively at the price of 490 and 1.20 shillings per share respectively.
Top losers’ circle was led by Standard Group which has already issued a profit warning for this year. The company lost 9.46 percent at the price of 33.50 shillings per share followed by Trans-Century with a loss of 6.82 percent at the price of 6.15 shillings per share.
East African Portland Cement lost 6.12 percent at the price of 23.00 shillings per share while Uchumi Supermarkets and Kenya Airways lost 5.56 and 4.07 percent respectively at the price of 3.40 and 5.90 shillings per share respectively.
