Stanlib Fahari Income-REIT Opens the Week as Top Gainer

Kenyan Stock Market Exhibited a Downward Trend in October top Safaricom Plc Top

Stanlib Fahari Income was the top gainer of the day. The company gained 9.47 percent at the price of 10.40 shillings per share. It was followed by WPP ScanGroup with 9.07 percent at the price of 19.85 shillings per share.

Mumias Sugar Company and Eveready East Africa gained 4.55 and 4.26 percent respectively at the price of 1.15 and 2.45 shillings per share respectively. Trans-Century closed the top five gainers of the day with 3.17 percent at the price of 6.50 shillings per share.

Sameer Africa was the top loser of the day. The company lost 9.84 percent at the price of 2.75 shillings per share followed by National Bank with a loss of 8.26 percent at the price of 10.00 shillings per share.

Uchumi Supermarket and Unga Group lost 5.63 and 4.00 percent respectively at the price of 3.35 and 30.00 shillings per share respectively. Stanbic Holdings closed the top five losers of the day with 3.75 percent at the price of 77.00 shillings per share.

On the top movers’ shelve, Safaricom Limited carried the day. The telecommunication company posted a volume of 25.84 million shares followed by Kenya Commercial Bank with 1.59 million shares. Equity Group posted a volume of 1.02 million while Co-operative Bank of Kenya and Kenya Airways posted 301,700 and 301,000 respectively.
