According to Forbes, an in records contained in the Guinness World Records, US software billionaire Bill Gates was the richest man in the world as at of April 2017.
Bill Gates is estimated to be worth USD 86.9 billion. He was also the wealthiest man alive from 1995 to 2007, again in 2009 and has retained the title since 2014.
As of June 2016, Forbes ranked Liliane Bettencourt from France as the richest woman with a USD 36.1 billion fortune.
