Sameer Africa Closes the Week as Top Gainer at the NSE

Kenyan Stock Market Exhibited a Downward Trend in October top Safaricom Plc Top

Sameer Africa closed the week as the top gainer of the day as people head into Christmas celebrations.

Sameer Africa gained 9.43 percent at the price of 2.90 shillings per share. The second top gainer was Nairobi Business Ventures with 9.23 percent at the price of 3.55 shillings per share.

Olympia Capital and East African Portland Cement were third and fourth gainers of the day respectively with 9.09 percent each at the price of 3.60 and 27.00 shillings per share respectively.

Standard Group was the fifth top gainer of the day with 8.82 percent at the price of 37.00 shillings per share.

TPS Eastern Africa (Serena) was the top loser of the day with 7.91 percent at the price of 32.00 shillings per share.

The second top loser was Eveready East Africa with 2.08 percent at the price of 2.35 shillings per share.

Flame Tree Group and British American Tobacco lost 2.08 and 1.89 percent respectively at the price of 4.70 and 780.00 shillings per share respectively.

East African Breweries closed the top five losers of the day with a loss of 1.65 percent at the price of 239.00 shillings per share.

The top mover of the day was Safaricom. The telecommunication has dominated the top movers’ desk for the whole week. The company posted 6.60 million shares followed by Carbacid Investments with 4.32 million shares.

Kenya Commercial Bank and Kenya Electricity Generating Company posted 1.30 million and 981,700 shares while NIC Bank had 457,500 shares sold.
