George Oyolla Set to Venture into the Taxi Business Using his new win from Telkom

The day kicked off like any other day but to one George Oyolla, the day was set to be different from all the other days.

As he woke up and set to take to the stage as both an actor and a stage manager, the 30-year-old thespian did not know that Telkom Kenya had a surprise for him.

To help him talk to his fellow actors as well as reach out to his clients, Oyolla topped up his Telkom line and made a few calls for the day.

As he made the calls, Oyolla had no idea that the calls will eventually be the reason for him to own a brand new Toyota Belta.

“I topped up my line using 800 shillings. I did not know that the 800 shillings will give me a car. In fact, I had not given much thought to the ongoing #FormNi50 promotion by Telkom Kenya,” he said.

The following day, Mr. Oyolla received a call from someone who said was from Telkom Kenya. “The person said that I had won a car. I could not believe it. How? Just how?” he said during an interview with Soko Directory.

Asked what he plans to use his new car for, “I plan to put it into the taxi business and will decide whether to join one of the app providers or just run as an individual,” he said, beaming with happiness.

His parting shot? “I wish to tell Kenyans that the promotion is real, they too need to participate as it is just a matter of just topping-up and then they might be the next winners as I was,”
