Kenya Power and Lighting Company was the top gainer of the day at the Nairobi Securities Exchange on Wednesday.
The power company gained 3.27 percent at the price of 7.90 shillings per share followed by Barclays Bank of Kenya with 3.25 percent at the price of 3.00 shillings per share.
Kenya Commercial Bank and Total Kenya gained 3.00 and 2.48 percent at the price of 51.50 and 31.00 shillings per share respectively.
East Africa Breweries gained 2.36 percent and the price of 260.00 shillings per share.
Standard Group ruled the top loser’s table with 8.09 percent at the price of 31.25 shillings per share.
Kenya Airways, which released its financial results during the day, lost 7.49 percent at the price of 10.50 shillings per share.
East African Cables and Carbacid Investments lost 5.00 and 4.24 percent at the price of 4.75 and 11.30 shillings per share respectively.
Sameer Africa lost 4.17 percent at the price of 2.30 shillings per share.
Banks dominated the top movers of the day table during the session. Equity Group, Kenya Commercial Bank, and Co-operative Bank sold 13.7, 7.15 and 1.92 million shares respectively.
Safaricom was the top mover having sold 17.99 million shares while Carbacid Investments sold 2.92 million shares.
