The Nairobi Securities Exchange has posted a profit of 216.25 million shillings from 183.96 million shillings registering a 17.56 percent increase.
In 2016, the firm had sent shockwaves down the spines of investors after its profits dipping 39.8 percent from 305.39 million shillings to 183.96 million shillings.
The increase in profits for the year ending December 2017 has been attributed to the good performance at the bourse as a result of increased commissions from trading activities.
Earnings for the firm increased by 10.47 percent to 582.34 million shillings. The total income, on the other hand, grew by 5.56 percent to 757.03 million shillings in 2017 compared to the growth at the same period in 2016.
The operating cost rose by 2.64 percent to 500.17 million shillings as a result of an improved cost to income ratio of 66 percent.
