NSE Hosts the 7th Edition of BAFM With a Focus on Financial Market Growth

The 7th Edition of the Building African Financial Markets (BAFM) Seminar kicked off on April 19, 2018, at the Villa Rosa Kempinski Hotel, Nairobi, hosted by the Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE).

This year’s seminar, which is expected to end on April 20 carried the theme “Adaptive innovation as a lever for the growth and sustainable development of African financial markets.”

BAFM 2018 is concerned with a variety of initiatives including the introduction of financial instruments, and the development of new processes. It will also focus on the adoption of efficient technologies in the financial markets, the interaction with investors and or customers as well as the development of new structures for financial institutions.

The event also aims to bring clarity on the progress and potential of Africa’s financial markets, provide a forum for mutual communication, exchange of information, co-operation and technical assistance among its members. It also seeks to facilitate the process of financial integration within the region for the effective mobilization of capital to accelerate economic development of Africa.

The 7th BAFM seminar agenda include:

BAFM Seminar is a capacity building initiative by ASEA (African Securities Exchanges Association), a group of 28 twenty-eight Exchanges in Africa that have come together with the aim of the positioning the African Capital Markets as the engine of economic growth.

The BAFM Seminar is designed to equip players in the African financial markets with knowledge and skills on emerging issues within the financial services industry, to compete effectively on the global platform.
