Umeme Kicks Off The Week on a Staggering Note at the NSE

Kenyan Stock Market Exhibited a Downward Trend in October top Safaricom Plc Top

Umeme kicked off the week on a staggering note after it closed the day as the top loser of the day at Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).

Umeme lost 9.73 percent at the price of 10.20 shillings per share followed by Deacons (East Africa) with 8.00 percent at the price of 2.30 shillings per share.

Express and Stanlib Fahari – REIT were the third and fourth losers of the day with 7.53 and 7.11 percent at the price of 4.30 and 11.10 shillings per share respectively.

Flame Tree Group closed the table of top five losers of the day with 6.67 percent at the price of 4.20 shillings per share.

It was all smiles for ARM Cement and Eaagads as they emerged as the top gainers of the day at the NSE with 8.97 percent each at the price of 7.90 and 21.25 shillings per share.

Mumias Sugar Company was the third gainer of the day with 6.25 percent at the price of 0.85 shillings per share.]

Home Africa gained 5.00 percent at the price of 1.05 shillings per share followed by East African Cables with 4.44 percent at the price of 4.70 shillings per share.

The top mover of the day was Safaricom Plc. Safaricom sold 12.82 million shares followed by Kenya Commercial Bank with 2.12 million shares.

Equity Group sold 1.03 million shares while Mumias Sugar Company and Nairobi Securities Exchange sold 788,400 and 513,400 shares respectively.
