Kenya’s inflation for the month of April has dropped to 3.73 percent according to stats released by Kenya National Bureau of Statistics.
In March, the inflation rate stood at 4.18 percent and has been relatively lower since the beginning of the year.
The April inflation is the lowest since January 2013 with KNBS attributing this to improved food production that has accompanied good rains.
According to the stats, the year-on-food inflation has dropped to 0.26% from 2.19 percent.
Kenyans still cannot fathom what these stats mean, since to them, food prices are still high especially due to the ever increasing prices of fuel.
Many now wonder whether the inflation is only dropping on paper.
