Sweet Potatoes Retailing Highest in Malindi and Lowest in Kitale

The market price for Sweet potatoes is highest in Malindi where a 98-kilogram bag is being sold at 3,600 shillings and lowest in Kitale where it is retailing at 2,000shillings.

Both Red and White Irish potatoes are retailing with almost the same prices in most towns across the country for a 50-kilogram bag with Nairobi and Mombasa having a market price of 2,500 shillings for both varieties and 1,500 shillings in Kisumu.

A 90-kilogram bag of sorghum is retailing as follows in selected towns: 6,300 shillings in Eldoret, which is also the highest market price, 5,400 shillings in Malindi, 4,200 shillings in Nairobi and Kisumu respectively. 3,600 shillings in Nakuru and 2,700 shillings in Mombasa.

A 90-kilogram bag of Finger Millet, on the other hand, was being sold at an average market price of 7,531 across the country as can be seen from the table below:
