This week’s market analysis on the East African Regional Grain Trade Analysis for the Week Ending 10 August 2018 showed a drastic drop of the price of wheat in Burundi from 81 shillings per kilogram for the week ending 3 August 2018 to 63 shillings a kilo as at the 10th of August.
The price of Dolichos or Njahi traded in the past one week has shown a gradual decline starting from Kitui from 150 shillings per kilogram the previous week, which is an apparent indication of an increased supply of the commodity in the market.
In Eldoret, the price of green grams also dropped from 116 shillings the previous week to 100 shillings a kilo. The price drop has been attributed to a fresh supply of the product harvested.
