Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin last week got a marriage license from the court but did not tie the knot. With pressure on what will happen to their property in case of a divorce without a prenup, the two have finally given it a thought before exchanging the vows.
According to TMZ Bieber and Hailey have involved their lawyers in the negotiations although they seem to find it awkward in as much as it is important.
Justin had initially refused to consider a prenup as he got weary of the countless questions from concerned parties about what will happen to his net worth of around $265 million.
There are claims that the two are staunch in their religion and they didn’t want to ask for a prenup. Justin, however, has been counseled that marrying without it is insane.
An earlier report from InTouch Weekly said that the 24-year-old What Do You Mean crooner did not want to protect his fortune when he weds his 21-year-old fiancee Hailey Baldwin.
“Justin refuses to ask for a prenup,” a source said. “He’s deeply religious and believes that marriage is for life and divorce isn’t an option.”
TMZ sources on September 21 claim that a prenup is to be negotiated and there will be no exchanging of vows before it is signed.
Reports of net worth are often wildly inaccurate but it isn’t like Hailey is poor. She has her own fortune thanks to her well-paying contracts with Sonia Rykiel, H&M, Adidas, Guess, Topshop, and Ralph Lauren and her net worth is estimated by Cosmopolitan to be around $2 million.
The wealth is way lower than Bieber’s, well, like earth and the sky, which is why it is understandable why his family is pushing for the prenup. This is perhaps the reason why Justin and Hailey need their lawyers to discuss on how the assets will be handled when the two finally marry.
Justin Bieber proposed to Hailey Baldwin on July 7 at a Bahamas resort. The two sparked their relationship a month prior after dating from 2015 to 2016.
