Kenyan Stock Market Exhibited a Downward Trend in October top Safaricom Plc Top

Top Movers

Kenya Commercial Bank was the top mover of the day at the Nairobi Securities Exchange on Tuesday. The lender sold a total of 2.89 million shares during the session.

The second top mover was Safaricom PLC having traded 2.36 million shares followed by WPP ScanGroup with 1.11 million shares.

Equity Group and Mumias Sugar Company sold 958,300 and 453,500 shares respectively.

Top Gainers

The top gainer of the day was Trans-Century with 8.22 percent at the price of 3.95 shillings per share followed by Deacons (East Africa) with 7.14 percent at the price of 0.75 shillings per share.

The East African Portland Cement and Olympia Capital gained 5.28 and 4.76 percent at the price of 18.95 and 3.30 shillings per share while Sasini Tea and Coffee gained 3.61 percent at the price of 21.50 shillings per share.

Top Losers

Kenya Airways was the top loser of the day. The airline lost 8.87 percent at the price of 9.25 shillings per share followed by Eveready East Africa with the loss of 8.33 percent at the price of 1.10 shillings per share.

Home Afrika, Mumias Sugar Company and Liberty Kenya lost 7.69, 7.14, and 5.66 percent at the price of 0.60, 0.65 and 12.50 shillings per share respectively.
