Mumias Sugar Company was the top gainer of the day at the Nairobi Securities Exchange. The sugar miller gained 9.09 percent at the price of 0.60 shillings per share.

The second top gainer was the East African Cables with 8.20 percent at the price of 3.30 shillings per share followed by Eveready East Africa with 5.56 percent at the price of 0.95 shillings per share.

HF Group and Sameer Africa gained 5.47 and 4.44 percent at the price of 6.75 and 2.35 shillings per share respectively.

Top Losers

Nation Media Group was the top loser of the day with 8.84 percent at the price of 67.00 shillings per share followed by BOC Kenya with a loss of 8.05 percent at the price of 80.00 shillings per share.

Olympia Capital, Equity Group and Total Kenya lost 7.14, 6.98 and 6.67 percent at the price of 2.60, 40.00 and 28.00 shillings per share respectively.

Top Movers

Safaricom PLC maintained its top movers’ position after selling 9.36 million shares followed by Co-operative Bank of Kenya who sold 2.22 million shares.

Equity Group, Kenya Commercial Bank and Barclays Bank Kenya sold 1.53 million, 944,300 and 306,900 shares respectively.
