Kenya Power Kicks Off The Week as Top Loser of The Day At NSE

Kenyan Stock Market Exhibited a Downward Trend in October top Safaricom Plc Top

Kenya Power and Lighting Company kicked off the week as the top loser of the day at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) few days after announcing a profit warning for the current fiscal year.

Kenya Power lost 9.09 percent with the share price dropping to 4.00 shillings per share. The company also appears to have been affected by the ongoing corruption case against former management.

Total Kenya tied at the same position with Kenya Power, losing 9.09 percent at the price of 25.00 shillings per share followed by Uchumi Supermarket with a loss of 7.14 percent at the price of 0.65 shillings per share.

Home Afrika and Jubilee Holdings lost 6.67 and 6.19 percent at the price of 0.70 and 424.00 shillings per share.

Equity Group was the top gainer of the day with 8.50 percent at the price of 41.50 shillings per share followed by Flame Tree Group with 6.35 percent at the price of 3.35 shillings per share.

Mumias Sugar Company, KenolKobil, and Sanlam Kenya gained 6.25, 4.79 and 3.26 percent at the price of 0.85, 15.30 and 23.75 shillings per share respectively.

The top mover of the day was KenolKobi who sold 29.51 million shares followed by Safaricom Plc who sold 6.41 million shares.

Kenya Power and Lighting Company, Kenya Electricity Generating Company and Co-operative Bank sold 761,300, 639,600 and 630,100 shares respectively.
