Kisumu Airport Records a 40% Growth on Passengers in 2017/18

Kisumu Airport recorded a 40 percent growth on the number of passengers who used it in 2017/2018 from 89,526 passengers to 125,618 passengers.

This is according to data from the Kenya Airports which ranked Kisumu Airport top among the other Airports in Kenya as far as growth on the number of passengers was concerned.

Moi International Airport came in second after Kisumu Airport with a 16 percent increase in passenger movement from 104,284 in September 2017/18 to 125,618 to 120,949 in the 2018/19 period.

Eldoret International Airport saw a 10 percent increase during the month of September to hit 20,791 from 18,888 recorded during the same month last year.

Despite recording an 8.2 percent increase, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport remains the country’s busiest airports, transiting 687,669 passengers in September, from the 635,522 recorded in September 2017.

Mombasa, Dubai, and Entebbe are the top destinations by passenger numbers from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Other destinations included in the top ten list Addis Ababa, Amsterdam, Johannesburg, Kisumu, Eldoret, Malindi, and Ukunda.
