Migori Governor Obado Freed on 5 Million Shillings Bond, Will he Salvage His Political Career?

Migori Governor Okoth Obado has been freed on a 5 million shillings bond after a successful bail application.

The Governor has been in remand for one month two days as he was taken into custody on September 22. Obado, his personal assistant Michael Oyamo, and Migori County clerk Caspal Obiero are jointly charged with the murder of Sharon and her seven-month-old foetus. Sharon was in a clandestine relationship with the Governor who fathered her unborn child before her time of death.

His release comes shortly after Sharon’s burial.

ODM party which is opposed to the Governor has also threatened to intervene in case the Migori MCA’s fail to impeach Obado in a fortnight.

Obado has denied charges of murdering Sharon who was found on September 3 at Kodera Forest in Oyugis in Homa Bay County. His release comes as a relief to his political career which has largely been tainted with the current scandals.
