National Bank Closes the Week as Top Gainer as Kapchorua Maintains the Top Loser Position

Kenyan Stock Market Exhibited a Downward Trend in October top Safaricom Plc Top

National Bank of Kenya moves into Mashujaa Day as the top gainer of the day at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) with 9.89 percent at the price of 5.00 shillings per share.

The second top gainer of the day was KenolKobil with 7.82 percent at the price of 15.85 shillings per share followed by Umeme with a gain of 7.50 percent at the price of 8.60 shillings per share.

Equity Group and Mumias Sugar Company gained 6.85 and 6.67 percent at the price of 39.00 and 0.80 shillings per share respectively.

Kapchorua Tea Kenya has maintained the top loser’s position. The tea company was the top loser on Thursday. On Friday, it closed the week with a loss of 9.46 percent at the price of 67.00 shillings per share.

Trans-Century was the second top loser of the day with 6.49 percent at the price of 3.60 shillings per share followed by Home Afrika with a loss of 6.25 percent at the price of 0.75 shillings per share.

Flame Tree Group and Crown Berger lost 5.97 and 5.33 percent at the price of 3.15 and 80.00 shillings per share respectively.

Safaricom PLC was the top mover of the day. The telecommunications giant has been among the top movers the whole week. On Friday, the company sold 14.03 million shares with a market capitalization of 951.55 billion.

Britam Holdings was the second top mover after selling 8.39 million shares with a market capitalization of 26.50 billion followed by Kenya Electricity Generating Company with 4.85 million shares and a market capitalization of 47.15 billion.

HF Group and Kenya Commercial Bank sold 3.29 and 1.93 million shares with a market capitalization of 2.29 and 117.27 billion respectively.
