Following a wave of corruption that was sweeping across various government entities, President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered fresh vetting and lifestyle audit of all heads of procurement as well as heads of accounting in ministries.
President Kenyatta called for the shakeup among procurement heads and accounting heads in the wake of massive corruption in various departments.
Some entities hit by corruption include the National Youth Service (NYS) where more than 9 billion shillings is said to have been looted, the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) with more than 4 billion shillings unaccounted for and the Kenya Pipeline Company where hundreds of millions of shillings are unaccounted for.
