Kenyans will soon have a new currency that will cost the taxpayer a total of 11 billion shillings with the printing set to kick off soon.
The designing and the printing of the new generation currency will be carried out by De La Rue, in a contract that will last 3 years.
De La Rue says that the first batch of the new currency will be out in the course of next year. According to the law, the generational currency should not bear the image of an individual.
The first batch of the notes will cost the taxpayer 2.4 billion shillings.
